GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

Born in Rome, Italy, Giambattista Valli studied art and design at the Istituto Euopeo del Design. Valli began his fashion career in Italy, working for Roberto Capucci, the Fendissime Line, Fendi and Krizia.

After moving to Paris, Giambattista Valli launched his first Ready-to-Wear collection in Spring 2005. After debuting, Giambattista Valli’s eponymous line quickly found a following among celebrities and socialites. The Italian designer, who shows in Paris, excels at high-drama dresses with experimental volumes and proportion. Feminine details in the form of ruffles and bows work to balance the sharp architectural lines, and they’ve helped put his evening looks on plenty of red carpets.

Valli's first couture collection came in July 2011 and his name became an international sensation. From furs to shoes, ready-to-wear and haute couture, Valli's collections are an expression of femininity and luxury, mixing Italian tradition with Parisian influences.
