We are saddened to hear that Ottavio Missoni, founder of the Missoni fashion house, has passed away this morning. We send our condolences to his family.
Mr. Missoni was a visionare who designed the iconic Missoni sweaters that were collected by fashion icons like Lauren Bacall in the 1950’s, by the legendary Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, and more recently by Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.
“I like comparing color to music: Only seven notes and yet innumerable melodies have been composed with those seven notes. How many basic colors are there? I don’t remember exactly, seven perhaps, like the notes of the scale, but how many tones or shades does each color have? An infinite number, just as always endless are the hues and nuances composing a work of art” - Ottavio Missoni
