The world famous Italian designer whose achievements helped shaped the fashion world today, and who has been credited with having invented "hot pants", died in her Milan home at age 90.
Founder of Krizia, one of Italy's first Ready-to-Wear houses, Mandelli made her mark in women's fashion design. In her own words, "every woman should dress as she pleases, as long as what she wears becomes part of her life." Her work transformed Milan into the fashion capital it is today.
Adieu, Mariuccia Mandelli, you will be sincerely missed.
